Ignaz Paul Vitalis Troxler (* 17 August 1780 in "† 6. March 1866 in Aarau) was a Swiss physician, politician and philosopher.

Life

Troxler studied philosophy and medicine in Jena and Goettingen, among other things with Hegel and Schelling. In Goettingen he attained also the doctor title.

Troxler practiced first in Vienna, where he closed friendship with Ludwig van Beethoven, and starting from 1805 in Luzern. It practiced violent criticism at the Swiss medicine politics and had 1806 again to Vienna to go, where it married the Potsdamerin Wilhelmine pole fount. After several journeys he lived starting from 1811 again in It published the writing of views into the nature of humans, in which it broke with nature philosophy Schellings and turned to the anthropology.

1815 were Troxler of envoys of Switzerland with the Viennese congress. 1820 he became finally a professor for philosophy and history at the Lyceum in Luzern, had to however already give after one year due to political problems the place up. It created Erziehungsinstitut in Aarau and practiced as a physician.

it went to 1830 as a professor to Basel, however already 1831 was set off, because one suspected it of the participation in the rebellion of Basel country. 1832 it became member of the large advice of the canton Aargau, 1834 professor at the University of Berne, where it practiced until 1850. He spent its last years on his Landgut in Aarau, where he died 1866.

Troxler of one of the most eager advocates of the Swiss unit efforts was political.

As a philosopher it followed first Schelling, starting from 1834 then Jacobi. Troxler took now a mystische direction, in which notion and mind played a role. Troxler saw philosophy as "“objektivierte anthropology"” - it called following its term the Biosophie also Anthroposophie - and the anthropology also as basis of the logic.
