The impact volume, more exactly the heart impact volume (English Stroke volume, abbreviation sports association), is a technical term from the medicine. One names the blood volume, which is ejected with a heart impact by the heart.

Computation and measurement

The impact volume is usually computed as difference of finaldiastolic and finalsystolic volumes (EDP and ESV):

SPORTS ASSOCIATION = EDP - ESV

The impact volume can be measured and computed from the Impedanzkardiographie, Echokardiografie or the heart catheter investigation.

From the impact volume one can derive two further important function parameters of the heart:

  • The ejection parliamentary group (EF) = impact volume/finaldiastolic volume
  • The heart minute volume = impact volume heart frequency

Normal value and degraded values

The normal value of the impact volume amounts to about 70 to 100 ml. The impact volumes of the right and left heart are essentially equally large.

A degraded impact volume is with cardiac infarcts, with heart muscle illnesses and with heart flap illnesses.
