The Infineon Technologies AG is in the year 1999 by separating and/or by spin off of the semiconductor business the Siemens AG over a stock exchange course (2000) developed high technology enterprise with seat in Munich. To the year end 2005 into the new enterprise center Campeon in the municipality Neubiberg (district Munich) pulled Infineon with executive committee and administration as well as central research and development. Until March 2006 still 18.23 per cent of all Infineonaktien was in the possession the Siemens AG, this portion at the end of March 2006 by the Siemens AG was completely sold.

Infineon (composition of infinity (English for Grenzenlosigkeit) and eon (old-Greek for life, eternity, infinity) offers semiconductor and system approaches for the automobile, industrial electronics and Multimarket, for applications in wire-bound communication, reliable mobile solutions as well as memory elements.

Infineon is world-wide active and steers its activities over national companies in the USA from San Jose, California, in the asiatic-Pacific area from Singapore, in Japan from Tokyo and in Austria from Villach. Since 1 September 2004 Wolfgang Ziebart leads the enterprise as a successor of Ulrich Schumacher. With world-wide approximately 35,600 coworkers Infineon obtained a conversion of 7.19 billion euro in the financial year 2004 (at the end of of Septembers). The DAX enterprise is noted in Frankfurt/Main and New York (NYSE) under the symbol IFX.

To the 1. May 2006 split Infineon off its memory section under the name "“Qimonda"” as an independent society with 12.000 coworkers. The new enterprise is to be brought after a resolution of the supervision advice still in the year 2006 to the stock exchange in the USA.

Condemnation because of illegal price-fixing arrangments

AENEON

Over the Businesses unit AENEON drives Infineon out since 2004 DRAM (main memories) - modules for the "“price-conscious"” market segment.

About 90% of the modules are supplied at Whitebox (i.e. smaller, non--mark) PC and Notebook manufacturers, the remainder go to the trade or over Webshop directly to the final consumer. The price advantages are by a limited assortment (only unbuffered and SO-DIMM) as well as paged out module production to be reached, the ICs are however the same as with those modules, which are sold further under the mark "“Infineon"”.
