The inspection lot is a term from the range of the quality management. The inspection lot is the identification of a product sample in the context of the production quality control. It is considered to take thereby as request a sample (current or final) from production and to examine these in accordance with in-plant quality yardsticks.

This is used in a general manner also during the incoming goods and output examination. As quality yardstick then if necessary the values agreed upon with the supplier and/or customer are considered.

AQL

AQL is the abbreviation for acceptance quality level, a numerical value, which - if between customers and suppliers agrees - it indicates whether a supply can be rejected because of quality lacking.

Example: With a delivery volume of 10.000 pieces it the size of the inspection lot 2 pieces. Both samples do not fulfill the test conditions. The entire supply does not know now to become, a further examining makes after probability-mathematical realizations a sense. It is improbably, which became here coincidentally the few bad copies "“gotten"”, probably is useless a large portion of the supply.
