Institut work and technology (IAT) is application orientated Forschungsinstitut of the country North Rhine-Westphalia with seat in the science park gel churches. It is hierarchically assigned to the center of science North-Rhine/Westphalia.

Official objectives

Central setting of tasks on several active in each case research fields with own scientific working groups is the development and testing of new solution methods for the accomplishment of the structural change. Yardstick of acting is thereby on the one hand the improvement of the employment outlook and on the other hand the increase of the productivity.

By the basic research operated here the IAT wants to a better understanding of the future knowledge-based national economy, from whose impulse forces and trend contribute.

By means of applied research new solutions for the market tendency, more innovation, the future arrangement are to be obtained by work and work time, new work forms, acquisition structures, the qualification of the workers as well as the change of education and education and the health system by political counselling.
