Internationally navigation company (INCo) was an US-American shipping company with head office in Philadelphia. The enterprise operated an airline service on the transatlantic route between North America and Europe.
1871 were created those internationally navigation company, in order to maintain an airline service from Philadelpha to Europe. Exterior indication of ships of the shipping company or more exactly the direct subsidiary companies became a black chimney with a white volume, which was arranged in the upper third.
Since the main source of income, for shipping companies of the time at that time, which was transport of emigrant and who wanted now times from Europe into the USA, was the new society in relation to the European competition disadvantaged. The new enterprise did what many Americans already did before it (e.g. Guion LINE), one based a subsidiary on European soil. 1872 became the anonymous one de Navigation Belge Americaine S.A., better admit as if talk star LINE, with head office in Antwerp based. Which exactly the reason was, the new enterprise in Belgium to beheimaten, is not well-known, but the shipping company developed well and soon became New York the terminal port in North America.
1884 were bought up the luckless American LINE, which likewise maintained an airline service since 1872 from Philadelphia to Europe, more exactly to Liverpool. The INCo was represented now with two shipping companies in the transatlantic service and this service began itself now to arrange finally quite successful. 1886 were bought up the steeped in tradition British Inman LINE come into financial difficulties and as Inman & internationally Steamship Company Ltd. (I&I) the increasing INCo Imperium attached. For this shipping company 1888 and/or 1889 the two sister ships town center OF New York and town center OF Paris were built. Not only that they were with 10499 BRT the then largest ships of the world, but with more than 20 knots were also the fastest. Were the only ships of the INCo those the blue volume won.
1893 permitted congress of US, by a special law, which the Inman ships could be in-flown a flag into the USA. The shipping company Inman & internationally S.S. CO. Ltd. and everything was dissolved was transferred their ships, now under star and Stripes, on the American LINE. 1895 took up the sister ships pc. Louis measured with 11629 BRT and St. Paul the enterprise, both ships had on US shipyards to be built, so that the Inman ships could be in-flown a flag into the USA. This was a condition those congress of US had placed. Pc. Louis and St. Paul should be for long time the last large passenger liners, which were US-thrown delivered by one.
1900 became those internationally navigation CO. by the US-Bankmagnaten J.P. Morgan bought up, that the plan had to develop a monopoly in transatlantic shipping. Morgan added its fast growing Imperium within a short time as outstanding shipping companies as the Atlantic transport LINE, Leyland LINE, White star LINE and the Dominion LINE. 1904 were renamed the INCo in internationally Mercantile navy company (IMMC) and developed to getting thing for all enterprises bought up by Morgan. The INCo, was dissolved however thereby practically, their daughter shipping companies talks star LINE and American LINE existed under IMMC direction further away.
