Islamic Republic OF Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) is the national radio and television station Iran.

IRIB sends world-wide in several languages its broadcast program. To the languages belong at present: Russian, Arab, Hebrew, English, French, German, Turkish, Chinese, Kurdish, Italian, Japanese and Indonesian. Besides there are messages of IRIB and live Streams in the Internet in different languages for monitoring. In Europe IRIB programs can be received for example over the satellite Hot Bird 3.

The English range from IRIB began in the year 1956 with the goal of making different countries world-wide with history and the culture of Iran familiar. In addition belonged also the different regions Iran and historical places. With the Islamic revolution in the year 1979 in Iran the Islamic ideals and principles in accordance with statement of IRIB with high priority were merged into the program sequence with.

IRIBs reporting is therefore characterised by a strongly Islamic coined/shaped aspect of the world happening. It is accused to the transmitter that the reports pulled through frequently with anti-American and antizionistischen comments are. Furthermore by national control of the opposition Iran is given hardly hearing. Therefore the transmitter does not apply after western standards as free and independent medium.

From 1994 to 2004 was Ali Laridschani, the designate ministers of foreign affairs Iran, boss of IRIB.
