The ISO 13407 "user-oriented organization of interactive systems" is a German standard, which describes a prototypischen user oriented software development process. A special development process can be regarded as to it conformal, if its recommendations are fulfilled. The ISO 13407 in June 1999 in its German version as standard one confirmed.
The standard consists in its structure both of the descriptions of planning user-oriented organization to make use suited and from explanations the development of interactive systems, which on it concentrates, systems. These describe very well readable form an iterative development process in more briefly, clearer and for a standard, with which user and task characteristics determine the development of the software. In addition the standard contains further guidelines and tables for reporting on user-oriented activities.
The standard represents user-oriented organization as a specializedspreading activity, which covers knowledge over human factors and ergonomic knowledge and techniques. The ISO process consists of four substantial partial activities:
This procedure is complementary to existing processing concepts of software engineering and supplements these. The user-oriented organization process should according to the standard already in the earliest stage of the project begin and should then repeated be gone through, until those system fulfills the requirements. The meaning and the expenditure for the user-oriented organization measures at the size and kind of the product which can be developed and for smaller projects by individuals one steers.
In the procedure of the user cent-talk Design is higher the portion of direct user participation of the development process. Nothing the defiance must measure the requirement of the standard at these forms of partizipativer software development. The standardized procedure does not seem to admit also the straight indispensable creative free space for the software development.
