When a kind from the family of the way Erich plants (Plantaginaceae) designated Kanari thimbles (Isoplexis), to which four kinds of bushes of several years belong, which occur exclusively on the zentralmakaronesischen archipelago.
Isoplexis kinds love sunny locations and are characterised by orange-brown tube blooms, which are arranged to ears. The leather-like sheets are of dark-greener color.
The kind is exclusively on the zentralmakaronesischen archipelago resident, i.e. on the Kanari islands and on larva Irish Republican Army (inclusive. the pre-aged islands postage Santo and Ilhas Desertas). The kinds are to be found also in their homeland only rarely and partly also by becoming extinct threatened (Isoplexis chalcanta). Isoplexis canariensis is offered occasionally as ornamental plant, must be held however as a since all Isoplexis kinds are not winter hard.
Kanari thimbles contain Herzglykoside, for example with Canarigenin or Uzarigenin as Aglykon. As Zuckerkomponeneten go in particular D-glucose, D-Fucose as well as D-Digitoxose into action. An expanded therapeutic use, as for instance with the native thimbles, is not given alone due to the rare occurrence. Kanari thimbles belong to the poison plants.
