The native Dutchwoman Maria Ita Wegman (* 22 February 1876 in Kravang, west Java; " 4. March 1943 in Arlesheim), time life only Ita Wegman mentioned, was common as Medizinerin with Rudolf Steiner of the Anthroposophisch extended medicine.

Biografie
Ita Wegman was born 1876 in Indonesia as a first child of a Dutch colonial family.
Around the turn of the century she came finally to Central Europe and could in Holland, partially in Germany, in welfare gymnastic and Massage be trained.
At the age of 26 years Ita Wegman met 1902 in Berlin Rudolf Steiner for the first time.
Later it began five years the study of the medicine at the University of Zurich, there had also Mrs. Zugang to the medical faculty. The study terminated it 1911 with the physician diploma and as a specialized lady doctor for woman medicine.
1917 made it in its first own practice a medicament against cancer of the Mistel, their Rudolf Steiner helped. From the Iscar in such a way specified the oldest Iscador developed later. 1919 operated it with two further lady doctors in Zurich a common practice.
there 1920 acquired it the real estate Hirsland 198 in Arlesheim and opened to 1921 their private hospital clinical-therapeutic Institut. Here the still young Anthroposophisch extended medicine was practically used for the first time.
1922 created Wegman the welfare-educational home house sun yard for seelenpflege children, likewise in Arlesheim. In the same year the establishment international laboratories & clinical-therapeutic Institut Arlesheim AG (today's Weleda AG) of the society economic with participation of the Futurum AG - took place for the promotion of economic and mental values under its relevant participation furthermore (thorn oh).
In the year after Rudolf Steiner appointed it into the establishment executive committee of the general Anthroposophi society.
1925 published it together with Rudolf Steiner the medical anthroposophische basic work fundamental for the extension of the welfare art after spirit-scientific realizations. Ita Wegman maintained Steiner during its illness up to death in the same year.
Wegman became into the 1920er years besides co-foundress of the medical section of the free university for Geisteswissenschaft at the Goetheanum in thorn oh.
1936 were created a Dependance of their hospital in Ascona (Switzerland).
1943 died the Medizinerin at the age of 67 years in Arlesheim.
