Industrial safety concerns itself with safe conditions of work (short term effect; e.g. helmet obligation, Sicherheitsschuhe etc.), the health protection (long-term = chronic as well as briefly arising = acute effect; e.g. dangerous materials, noise etc.) and the personal protection (e.g. maternity protection, protection of children and young people)) with the work. In the enterprise it can be converted over an industrial safety management.

History

Technical and social industrial safety became in 19. Century introduced to Prussia, since by Kinderarbeit the "“quality"” of the recruits had dramatically worsened. 1884 were discharged under Bismarck the first accident insurance law in the German Reich, which led also to the establishment of the professional associations. 1924 were furnished in Berlin the hospital for occupational illnesses and developed 1933 to

1974 came into force the law over company doctors, safety engineers and other specialists for industrial safety (industrial safety law - ASiG).

As the further legal basis the trade and industrial regulations served into the 1990er year.

Industrial safety in Germany

In Germany the industrial safety in a binary system is supervised:

1. by the industrial safety authorities of the Lands of the Federal Republic (designations: Trade supervisory board, national office for industrial safety and safety engineering, office for industrial safety, national office for industrial safety)
2. by the carriers of the legal accident insurance, in particular the commercial professional associations and accident cashes.

Industrial safety in Austria

Under industrial safety (English: OSH: Occupational Safety and Health) one understands the sum of all precautions and activities, which have the protection of the life and the health of humans with their vocational activity as a goal. In Austria this area is designated more accurately than employee protection and/or employee protection.

The industrial safety in Austria is substantially certain by the fundamental guidelines of the European Union (as also in many other European countries). On these guidelines most of the national industrial safety laws are based and - regulations, like e.g. the employee law for the protection (ASchG).

An overview of the regulations of the ASchG gives the brochure to "“security and health protection on the job (the employee law for the protection)"”.
