History

When the Friesi brewing house was created to Jever 1848 of Diedrich king, it was only one of many breweries of the region. King was however from the outset convinced of the fact that its beer was somewhat special. After his death 1867 its son sold the brewery. From then on Theodor took over the brewery. It began to transform the small family business into a large brewery began advertisement to make and made special bottles. 1894 it was considerably involved in the first water pipeline for the city Jever.

The 1. World war was for the brewing house a heavy time, since the son of Theodor which had taken over meanwhile the line of the brewery, at the front fell. Finally the brewing house was again sold 1922, this time to those Hamburg Bavaria St. Pauli brewery, which belongs today to the Danish group of Carl mountains. The beer from Jever was at this time already supraregional admits and starting from 1934 it under its today still valid name "“Jever Pilsener"” was then sold. After that 2. World war was first again critical the situation - because of lack of fuel beer was only sold at Selbstabholer directly at the brewery and one had to drive off the farms of the area, in order to get barley.

After the direct post-war period past was, the situation improved also in Jever again. The usually-sold beer was Jever export, which was brewed until 1990. In the course of the 1960er years became ever more popular the Pils and the sales figures of "“Jever Pilsener"” rose. In this time the brewing house was extended clearly and developed.
