In addition, Christian was son of a writer in and studied in attaining and old village with Nuremberg theology, operated mathematical sciences. As a Prediger it was starting from 1764 in that today to Frankfurt belonging mountains active, starting from 1767 in (today new mountain), 1776 in Rodheim (quarter of Rosbach v. D. In its 1791 published insektenkundlichen writing described it numerous new kinds of the as for example the Galli wasp. This work were the basis partly for the first time observations of the living insects, which admits of the science before only on the basis pieces of collection were. Christian was not only one the most important Pomologen, but saw itself particularly as peoplenear teachers. Its goal was to be brought it, the fruit-growing customer to the simple people more near, which succeeded to it in the long run with large success.

1813 died Christian to as hunger illness admitted typhus fever.

Some decades after its death in its honours in Kronberg a monument was established.
