Joint tasks (GA) are in the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany (kind 91 A and 91 b) individually enumerated fields, in which the federation can participate in the fulfilment of tasks of the countries. Practically this co-operation takes place duch cash payments and the perception from coordination functions. Thus the joint tasks represent exceptions in the system of Germany, which actually plans a separation of the household economy from federation and countries. On individual projects in the planning committee, that the Federal Minister of Finance, who belongs responsible specialized technical of the federation (e.g. the Land of the Federal Republic minister of economics, is decided) and the specialized Ministers of the countries. During tunings it requires the voice of the federation, the country concerned and the majority of the countries.
It is criticized that by the high majority hurdle and the necessity for the agreement by the Land of the Federal Republic concerned only compromises on lowest level are to be obtained and no country of the reduction will agree it assigned means. The federation can intervene thus indirectly in the budgetary planning of the countries, which in the sense of self-sufficiency is not.
The joint tasks were the subject of the discussions in the federalism commission. In the first stage of the federalism reform planned at present the abolishment of the joint tasks university's building and educational planning is intended.
