Josef Issels (* 21 November 1907 in Moenchengladbach; "† 11 February 1998) was a German physician, who developed alternative cancer therapy, which admits eating LS therapy so mentioned, became and world-wide a large controversy among physicians and the medical profession released by one of it.

Issels stated to be able to heal cancer patients who were considered as "„incurably "“by the usual cancer therapies. It operated its own ring mountain hospital in Rottach Egern in Bavaria since 1951.

Issels deceased 1998, its wife recruits however further for the eating LS therapy by the Issels Foundation.

Two prominent patients Issels' were the British light athlete Lillian board, the American actor Steve McQueen as well as the Jamaican Reggaemusiker Bob Marley. Board went in the autumn 1970 to it in treatment, after with it an incurable stomach cancer had been diagnosed; the therapy failed however and board died in December 1970. Marley could be in-supplied in November 1980 with Issels, after that discovered 1977 cancer ulcer in the final stage was and for incurable was found. The treatment seemed first positively too run, in March 1981 improved the condition Marleys, worsened however drastically within weeks, until it died in May 1981.
