Joseph Bell (* 2 December 1837; " 4 October 1911) is considered as a pioneer of the Forensik. In the year 1888 Jack kills the Ripper in London its fourth victim. Scotland yard searches thereupon advice with the physician Joseph Bell, which itself with that new area, which concerns Forensik.

The BBC TV serial Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings OF Sherlock of cross-beam was an exaggerated representation of Doyles time as Bells assistant, in which the meaning of Bell for cross-beam a character was stronger than in the reality, Doyle became on an equal footing with Dr. Watson. Dr. Bell was explained by Ian Richardson.
In July 2005 with Stone Publishing House a book for school children named "Dr Joseph Bell - the original Sherlock of cross-beam" one brought out. Author is the historian from Kent Dr. Robert Hume, which before already books concerning Christopher Columbus and Perkin recruit-hit a corner wrote, the illustrations comes from Cheryl Ives.
