Julius amber (* 18 December 1839 in resounds; "† 6 February 1917 in resounds) was a German physiologist.

Amber studied Bois Reymond starting from 1857 at the University of Breslau with Rudolf Heidenhain and in Berlin with Emil you. it was attained a doctorate to 1862 with a thesis over muscle physiology. 1864 he became an assistant with Hermann of Helmholtz at the University of Heidelberg.

Amber became 1870 private lecturer. Since 1872 was it as a successor of Friedrich Goltz professor at the university resounds. 1881 it created Institut for physiologist at the university resounds, whose director was he.
