Karamalz is belonged in as alcohol-free defined and to the company Henninger. With an alcohol content of 0,2% volume. belongs it according to German setting situation to the alcohol-free beverages.

"„The Henninger caramel Kraft beer"” was driven out since 1955 in Frankfurt area. 1958 were amended apart from the prescription also the name to Karamalz. 1961 were registered Karamalz as registered trade mark.

Since newest there is a further variant which with lemon is enriched: Fresh Lemon. This variant is however so far only in German-language areas available.
