Karl refuses (* 19. March 1845 in cathedral mountain; "† 5 August 1904 in Frankfurt/Main) was a German pathologist.

Refuses studied until 1868 at the universities of Berlin, Vienna and Breslau. It participated in the French-German war (1870-71). Afterwards it established as an auxiliary physician in Breslau and was later for 2 years assistant of Heinrich William Waldeyer and from Hermann Lebert. 1878 it followed its teacher Julius Cohnheim (1839-1884) to Leipzig and became Assistenzprofessor for pathology at the university. 1884 he was appointed the professor pathological anatomy at the Senkenberg donation in Frankfurt/Main and received 1899 the title of secret Medizinalrat.

Assisted Cohnheim refuses with many of its research work and published much over the representation of bacteria by microscopy.
