Kenneth Lee Lay (* 15 April 1942) is an US-American businessman and a former CEO of the energy company Enron.

The function of the CEO and Chairman had Lay from 1986 to his resignation on 23 January 2002 (with exception of the months before, in which Jeffrey Skilling occupied the post of the CEO), a little later fallow Enron together.

The names from Lay and Skilling became in the further process synonyms for terms such as balance fraud or investor deception.

Lay became together with Jeffrey Skilling to 25. May 2006 of the fraud and conspiracy in the context of the bankruptcy spoken of Enron guiltily and must count on a long detention.
