Klaus Conrad (*19. June 1905 in Vienna; "† 5. May 1961 in Goettingen) was a German neurologist and psychiatrist with important contributions to the neuro psychology and Psychopathologie. He was last a tidy professor of the psychiatry and neurology, director of the university mental hospital in Goettingen since 1958.

In its hometown Vienna visited Conrad a human High School. After the Abitur it decided for the medicine and put themselves 1929 down into Vienna the state examination. One study term in London created a durable connection to the anglo-saxon world; thus late Henry Head and John Hughlings Jackson won a weighty influence on its scientific thinking. It began its way at the Viennese hospital under Otto set it away at the Magdeburger mental hospital. To a study stay at the Salptri¨re in Paris he came 1934 to the research institute for psychiatry into Munich. 1938 got Ernst Kretschmer it as an upper physician to Marburg. Two years after it had still briefly finished a comprehensive Monographie, which anpackte the problem figure and a character of the new criteria of the shape theory before its summoning to the service as a troop physician.

When director/conductor of a special military hospital for brain-hurt worked on ordered Conrad at the end of the war over more than 800 carefully cases with brain injuries, from which over 200 aphasische disturbances had, which were analyzed intensively, for months. Conrad found new methodical ways again and again, in order to seek out the shape-psychological regularities of the different Aphasieformen, the disturbed word identification and the Alexie. In its structural analyses of brain-pathological cases (1947-1949) it put the reason for a brain-pathologically founded general Psychopathologie on shape-theoretical basis.

1948 were appointed Klaus Conrad to the Saar university to the again-created chair for psychiatry and neurology, 1958 became it as a successor Ewald director of the university mental hospital in Goettingen. In the same year, on the annual meeting of the psychiatrists in bath Nauheim, he suggests giving, the nosologische separation from schizophrenia and Zyklothymie up endgultig.

Scarcely 1 year before its death the symptomatic Psychosen in the second volume of psychiatry of the present appears. Conrad was convinced of the fact that only on the way of the brain pathology an entrance to the Psychose problem is possible and led thereby the phenomenological Psychopathologie the medical-scientific soil.
