A Konstrukt is not directly observable circumstances within a scientific theory. Konstrukte are thus mental and/or theoretical nature. That means not that circumstances concerned "“do not exist"”, but only that it is deduced to observable circumstances (so-called indicators) from others, easily (it). Therefore one speaks also of latent Konstrukten (or latent variables). The process of "“opening"” is called Operationalisierung.

Example: the Konstrukt intelligence extracts itself from a direct observability, can however over an indicator like the IQ approach be measured.

The term Konstrukt is closely related to the term concept. The concept stresses more strongly that it concerns a scientific or theoretical term, while with the Konstrukt the stress is on the non--observability.

Criticism

Here demonstrated the possibility with the term the Konstrukt of using a term in such a way that it contradicts, which it states as colloquial term - either it is designed something or it existed already for itself -, subordinates an epistemological position, which has even no argument for the existence or explanation of certain phenomena, these however argumentless in the designed sense as existent to regard wants (example: IQ-test). Also in the natural science a Konstrukt can represent evenly only an unproven or also unprovable acceptance, not however to state, setting up of the acceptance is owed exclusively the circumstance, the article is not directly observable. Plausibility does not replace explanations!
