Kronanwalt (Queen's and/or King's Counsel, abbreviation QC and/or KC) is a name for particularly experienced attorneys in England and Wales.
If a queen governs, then are called Queen's Counsel, govern a king, then the correct designation is King's Counsel. Also in some other countries of the Commonwealth or are appointed.
The title of the Kronanwalts is lent only to particularly experienced and successful attorneys, who experience thereby official acknowledgment of the state (represents by the crown and the courts). Up to the year 1996 only Barrister could be appointed, meanwhile are possible this in special cases also for Solicitor. In the year 2002 there were 1,145 Barrister with the title QC (with approx. 10,500 Barristern altogether) and 7 Solicitors in England and Wales (with scarcely 90,000 altogether).
