Kurt cutter (* 7 January 1887 in Crailsheim, "† 27 October 1967 in Heidelberg) was a German psychiatrist.

Life's work

Cutter is considered as one of the most important researchers within the range Psychopathologie. Its Hauptwerk is the "“clinical Psychopathologie"” already the 1967 in the respected edition appeared. Admits became it particularly by systematics of the symptoms 1. and 2. Rank of the schizophrenia in the year 1938. Cutter is considered as a model to the research groups, which prepared the today valid diagnostic systems (ICD and DSM) into the 1970er years. It divided the psychological disturbances in five groups:

• Psychopathi personalities
• Abnorme experience reactions
• Weak-intimate and their Psychosen
• The structure of the physically Psychosen
• Zyklothymie and schizophrenia

Life

Kurt cutter studied medicine and philosophy in There it received the medical graduation to 1912. 1919 it habilitierte as an upper physician with Gustav Aschaffenburg in Cologne. it received its philosophical graduation there to 1921. 1922 he became an extraordinary professor. 1931 he became director/conductor of the clinical department of the "“German research institute for psychiatry"” in Munich of the today's institute for Max-Planck for psychiatry). From 1946 to 1955 he was a tidy professor and director of the psychiatric university hospital in Heidelberg.
