Langnese is a label name of an ice mark and was the company name up to the fusion to Langnese Iglo GmbH.
The buyer Karl Rolf Seyferth looked for 1927 in "Hamburg stranger sheets "a label name for its existing "GermanChinese ice production company "(honey production). At this time there was a Bisquit factory in Hamburg with outstanding call concerning quality and commitment. This factory belonged to the export dealer Viktor Emil Heinrich (Vth E.H.) Langnese. 1927 took over Seyferth the company Vth E.H. Langnese, based 1888, for 300 realm Marks and secured themselves the label name Langnese.
Seyferth imported 1935 a Danish achievement to Hamburg: Ice at the handle. A hot summer and a price of 10 Pf. brought success. More than 1.5 million Eislollies - as the vernacular the Langnese ice calls was sold - in the first season. On the trade mark at that time a boy with an ice at the handle made a long nose suitable the name. The national socialists braked 1936 the recent business out. Karl Seyferth was refused the milk and cream necessary for the production of ice cream and he took up contact to "the margarine sales union ". Thus the contact was manufactured to Unilever.
Langnese was combined 1962 with Iglo to the Langnese Iglo GmbH within Unilever company. Likewise the honey business claimant under the mark "Langnese" was separated, taken over and resumed by the Oetker company. Thus a rare case developed that two food companies use the same mark - however for different products -.
Products of the company are sold in some countries with different label name, whereby is maintained the Corporate Identity mentioned after the current Logo "Heartbrand". Thus Langnese in other countries is called:
Langnese Speiseis is applied in Germany since 1986 with the Reklamesong Like Ice in The Sunshine.
