Legationsrat is the office designation in the foreign service. This concerns the office for entrance.

Germany

In the German Foreign Office it corresponds to an official of the salary bracket A 13 according to a government advice in the other Ministries and/or in the public administration.

If the official is shifted by the inland abroad, then he carries the title second secretary (English Second Secretary, frz. Secrtaire, splinter Segundo Secretario).

The next transport takes place to the Legationsrat of first class (foreign country: First secretary, paying stage A 14, corresponds to upper government advice), afterwards to the speaking Legationsrat (inland) /Botschaftsrat (foreign country) (BesGr. A 15, corresponds to director of government), finally to the speaking Legationsrat/Botschaftsrat of first class BesGr. A 16, which corresponds to a Ministerialrat.

Inland, thus the center in Berlin or the remaining branch office in Bonn, the Legationsrat usually works as an adviser in a paper of the foreign office.
