Liberalisation of the measurement

After the power industry law (EnWG, "§ 21 b) from 7 July 2005 it is possible that measuring instruments can be built and operated in the energy industry (e.g. electric meter, gas meter) by independent third measuring point operators. This right had so far only the local resident network carrier. A goal is it to create a free market for this service which in the interest of the customer measuring repaying which can be sunk leads. The measuring point operator has to close a measuring point operator contract, into the which among other things following is regulated with the network carrier:

- Description of the processes with the counter change (e.g. periods, start-up etc.)

- Requirements of the measuring point operator (registration at the weights and measures office; Control of the technology of the work under tension with the counter assembly,"…)

- technical requirements of the measuring instrument (counter)

For the enterprise of the measuring instrument the measuring point operator receives a measuring payment. He can raise this either directly from the customer or, if agrees in such a way, from dessem supplier (e.g. current dealer). The payment of the measuring payment to the network carrier is void with the change.
