LOHRO stands for Ro for restaurant radio of the Hanseatic city ''' ''' stick. LOHRO is a Radiosender in the format of the editorialally answered for going through radio. The not-commercially working transmitter is supported among other things by different public institutions. There are not a firm program schema and the transmissions, as usually in the open channel, individually is answered for, but the transmitter stands as total unit for it. The program consists of three parts: 1. from the daily schedule, which functions as Begleitprogramm, 2. from the evening program with its special transmissions and 3. from the automated program in the night as well as the editorialally not yet worked on periods. The evening program sets consciously on music special programs, which illustrate the music scene of the city and both by professional DJs and music lovers are equally realized. Besides there is radio plays and the talc ending in the late evening also free characters.

The transmitter is carried by two associations: from the culture network Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as licensees and of foerderverein.LOHRO, the transmitter promotes and the basic and advanced training organized. The transmitter denies its maintenance from project means of different organizations, membership dues of the associations and Sponsoring.

The project is country widely unique in its form, since elements of citizen media with organization forms under private law mix here. The program is as pilot project for the time being until 2010 licensed.
