Louis Lewin (* 9 November 1850 in Tuchel (west Prussia); "† 1 December 1929 in Berlin) was a physician, Pharmakologe, toxicologist and founder of the industrial toxicology and craze central research.

Lewin provided a classification system for drugs and psychoaktiver plants basierent on its pharmakologischen effect. Its original organization was:

  • Inebriantia (Inebrianzien - like alcohol or Ether)
    • Exitantia (Stimulanzien - like Khat or Amphetamine)
  • Euphorica (Euphorieka and anaesthetics - like heroin)
    • Hypnotica (Tranquilizer - like Kava)
  • Phantastica (Halluzinogene and/or Entheogene - like Peyote or Ayahuasca) </li>
