Ludwig August Struve (* 18 August 1795 in Altona; "† 29 August 1828 in Dorpat) was a German physician.

Life

Struve was the brother of the astronomer Friedrich George William of Struve.

Struve studied medicine at the universities of Dorpat and Cologne. This study closed it 1815 successfully with a graduation to the Dr. med. & chir. off. As such it established itself afterwards Altona as a practical physician. Until 1823 it changed with its practice to Wilster and to Elmshorn.

1820 were taken up Struve as a korrepondierendes member to the Danish medical society. 1820 were promoted to Struve to the professor of the therapy and as the director of the university clinic Dorpat were appointed. Due to its earnings/services the Zar appointed it the Russian yard advice.

At the age of 33 years Ludwig August Struve died on 29 April 1828 in Dorpat.
