The machine data collection, briefly: MDE, describes the interface between machines of the production engineering and the data processing. The data from the MDE flow either directly as parameters into the machine regulation or for statistic process feedback control (SPC) are used. Beyond that the data can be used for the planning and control of orders in production.
Some substantial machine data:
Over appropriate interfaces and Softwaretools these data can directly at a ERP, a APS or a MES system (MES: To Manufacturing Execution system, see production control system) being transferred. These use the received messages directly around the current condition of production to indicate. Only a quality-assuring planning and controlling of the manufacturing make possible the combination of the MDE data with such for a system. With the help of these information preparation times and turn-around times can be reduced. At the same time one can reduce the existence of semifinished parts in production. This has direct effects on the capital bound in the enterprise and contributes substantially to an improvement of the date loyalty of a manufacturing.
Thus one can regard the use of machine data as substantial factor for the increase in output and thus the competitive ability of an enterprise.
