Magnus level, also Magnus Pegelius, (* 1547 in Rostock; "† 1619) were a German physician and mathematician.

Magnus level was son of professor Konrad level. 1569 it acquired the academic degree of a Magsisters and 1579 as a professor for mathematics after Helmstedt was appointed. 1581 it turned back after Rostock and attained a doctorate 1591 in medicine. 1591 it was appointed as a professor for mathematics to the University of Rostock. Level attached already promptly contacts with unusual scholars of its time like for example Tycho Brahe or Jost 1593 came it the imperial privilege to part its works to protect to be allowed. Time of its life fought to level for a Mechanik.1604 which is based on experiments appeared its well-known work "“thesaurus rerum selectarum magnarum, dignarum, utilium, marinus, per genere human"”. In this he expressed over various at its time futuristically sounding projects and describes themselves the theoretical conditions with the construction of airships, submarines, ship bridges, automatic firearms, hydraulic architectures and bath furnaces, a memory art as well as the Chirurgia infusoria.

Together with Tycho Brahe became level of late councellors of the emperor Rudolf II. in Prague.
