Malimo a textiles finished article is called, which was manufactured in the sewing effect procedure invented by Heinrich Mauersberger from Limbach Oberfrohna. Malimo is an art name and stands for Mauersberger Limbach Oberfrohna, which is recently kolportierte Lesart Mauersberger Limbach Oberfrohna mol clay/tone (mol clay/tone fabric), meanwhile wrongly (mol clay/tone does not have anything with Malimo to do).
The protected term one names the sewing effect procedure patented by Mauersberger 1949 beside the textile also (Mali-mover-drive) and the special machines (Malimomaschinen), needed for it.
The Mali mover driving associates beside the Web, effect, milling and needle tip procedure as independent procedure for the production of a textilen planar formation from individual threads. Although it is called also sewing effect procedure, it does not have to do with the classical Trikotagenherstellung anything, although also the Malimotextil can be just as flexible by the use of flexible fibers as Trikotagenware.
Also when Mali mover driving one knows the systematic distinction between static threads (chaining threads) and dynamic threads, common from weaving, which bring the texture by the adjustment of the static threads only. Differently than when weaving this adjustment of the static threads takes place however not by means of a Schussfadens, which is through shot by the chaining threads orthogonal to their direction of travel, but via over steppes (over-sew) of the chaining threads (mostly) orthogonal to their direction of travel. This kind of the adjustment has the advantage that differently than when weaving, where in each case a shot can be shot after the other one several (nearly infinitely many) needles can over-quilt the chaining property at the same time and thus Malimo can be produced substantially faster than Web commodity. The moreover one one can combine nearly arbitrary fibers, so that an almost infinite abundance at application possibilities and possible effects exists.
Threads cannot only serve as chaining property, but about also felt or fleece material, which win by over steppes substantially at ultimate tensile strength, without losing their other textilen characteristics.
The GDR removed the procedure and associated mechanical engineering with purposeful investments to its own branch of industry and marketed the products and licenses under the name "Malimo" at large expenditure. First was set to replace wide ranges of the Web and effect goods by Malimo and about also clothing from Malimo produce. This sat down however only limited through. However the use of Malimo as customs textile (approximately for work clothing, bandages, table-ware cloths, dusters, flow etc.) was most successful. This very day it is strengthened used in this range because of the time advantage in production particularly in the USA. On the market of the German Federal Republic one finds against it Malimoware only rarely.
