Management VWL or VWL for management decisions (Managerial takes economics out of the English term) is an area of the political economy, which uses micro-economic analyses for special management decisions. Therefore it forms a bridge between economic theory and VWL in practice. It avails itself thereby above all of quantitative methods as for instance the involution and correlation, linear optimization, decision theory and the game theory. In this regard it is related to the operation Research, finally uses it also their methods.

If there is a task, which emerges within all ranges that management VWL, it is the attempt to optimize management decisions under the framework of the company targets and the general scarceness of resources.

Almost all management decisions can be analyzed by the method that management VWL, in principle concern themselves them however with the following ranges of topics:

Demand estimation - over regression analyses the size of the demand for a product, a service or a mark is determined.

Investment budgeting - assistance of the investment theory the procurement of capital measures are examined.
