The Maquila Solidarity network (MSN) is work and woman-legal organization in Canada for the protection of the persons employed in the Maquiladora factories of Mexico and Central America. As NGO it trachtet also to sensitize the retail trade in Europe and North America for the conditions on which the goods sold by them are manufactured.

MSN works since 1995 particularly for fair conditions of work in the clothing industry and makes also with department stores relevant raids, in Europe for example with Karstadt. In Honduras succeeded in their 2003 among other things moving the sport clothe company Gildan to the adherence to the actually prescribed industrial safety and from regulations for pregnant woman. Different place Maquiladora coworkers are supported with the education by operating's groups or local trade unions, if they are exposed to Repressionen of the production management thereby.

One in December 2005 published study of the work standards in the clothing industry shows that the campaigns affect themselves medium-term also at large textile companies active in Latin America: thus 3 companies in the meantime on 70 of 100 points improved (Levi's (Levi bunch), Gap Inc. and Nike Inc.), others are only little under it (H&M, Liz Claiborne). So far the companies less willing to cooperate such as Benetton, blue max, Lee corporation, Polo Ralph Lauren, Replay, Versace or Wrangler come by the publications under gentle pressure to likewise improve the conditions of work.

The head office of the Maquila Solidarity network is at the secretariat of the Ethical Trading Action Group (ETAG) in Canada, a co-operation of different NGO groupings ("„coalition OF faith, labour and non governmental organizations advocating for goverment policies, voluntary code OF conduct and purchasing policies that promote human labour of practices based on accepted internationally labour standard "“).
