Mars-resound Warren Nirenberg (* 10 April 1927 in New York, the USA) is an US-American biochemist and Genetiker.

Together with Heinrich Matthaei it planned the probably most meaning experiment of the genetics. The so-called Poly U experiment was the key to the deciphering of the genetic alphabet. It was accomplished by Heinrich Matthaei alone in May 1961 in the common laboratory. The weighted authority at this break-through was occupied by strict alternating the publication author shank by the two scientists.

It received 1968 together with Har Gobind Khorana and Robert W. to Holley the Nobelpreis for physiology or medicine.
