Martin autumn (* 1917 in Seifersdorf, Saxonia; "† 21 December 2005 in Leipzig) was a German physician and pioneer of the heart surgery.

Life

Martin autumn studied medicine in Berlin and peppering castle. it attained a doctorate to 1943 at the Bavarian Julius Maximilians university in peppering castle with the work "“experimental investigations over the influence of nicotine on the child in the second half of the pregnancy"”. After conclusion of its graduation it was drawn in directly in March 1943 to North Africa to the German Africa corps. Eight weeks later it came into British war shank, from which it became to dismiss 1947.

First it was active until 1950 in the city hospital Limbach (Saxonia), made afterwards its specialist training as the surgeon at the University of Leipzig. 1957 it habilitierte there with the work "“shunting operation of the symptom complex with homoioplastischen Arterientransplantaten"” and was first active as a private lecturer. Its 1961 effected appointment as the first full professor for heart and container surgery and the mechanism of a separate hospital the further conditions created, in order to test and transfer into clinical practice operations with the help of the again used heart lung machine. Until 1982 he dressed the office of the director of the hospital for heart and container surgery of the University of Leipzig.

Professor Dr. sports club med. Martin autumn was distinguished because of its extraordinary earnings/services, which relevant it arranged with development of the hospital for heart and container surgery as first of their kind in Europe, to the honour senator of the University of Leipzig.

Professor Herbst had made itself a name also international. Until e.g. American experts visited it last, if they were to congresses in Leipzig.
