Professor Dr. med. Martin J. Lohse (* 1956) is an human physician with the emphasis pharmacology and toxicology. Since 2001 it in addition member are in the national ethics advice.
Martin Lohse studied Humanmedizin and philosophy in Goettingen, London and Paris and locked the study 1981 with the medical state examination. Likewise 1981 followed the graduation in medicine at the institute for Max-Planck for biophysical chemistry in Goettingen in the department of neuro biology. The Habilitation for pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Heidelberg followed 1988, until 1990 was Martin Lohse then specialist for pharmacology and toxicology with the district physician chamber north bathing.
From 1983 to 1988 Martin Lohse was a scientific assistant at the Pharmakologi institutes of the Universities of Bonn and Heidelberg, from 1988 to 1989 Research Associate at the Howard Hughes Medical of institutes of the Duke University Durham, the USA. It became 1990 Assisant Medical Research professor likewise there. Martin Lohse working group leader at the laboratory for molecular biology of the University of Munich and at the institute for Max-Planck for biochemistry was from 1990 to 1993 in Martinsried. Since 1993 he is a professor for pharmacology and toxicology at the University of peppering castle. The 2002 Rudolf Virchow center created there (DFG research center for experimental biomedicine) are led at present by it.
For its scientific work Martin Lohse received a set of honors and honours, thus to 1986 the Fritz price, 1987 the Claudius Galenus price, 1990 the Gerhard Hess price, 1991 the research price of the Federal Department of Health, 1996 the price of the Vaillant donation, 1999 the Leibniz price and 2000 the seriousness young price for medicine. In addition Martin Lohse is since 1998 member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and since 2000 member of the German academy of the natural scientists Leopoldina.
