Master Chief Petty Officer OF the Navy (MCPON) is the highest NCO rank of US Navy. There is only in each case a NCO (Non Comissioned Officer), which holds this rank. Since 22 April 2002 this MCPON Terry D is. Scott.

Introduction of the rank

The utility position of the MCPON was introduced on 13 January 1967 under the designation "“senior Enlisted Advisor OF the Navy"”. Three months later renaming took place into the name used this very day.
