MEDA program, is the main financing equipment of the European Union for the implementation euro mediterranean of co-operation. The program offers technical and financial support measures to accompany the improvement the economic and social structures in the Mediterranean partners.

This goes far beyond traditional development assistance. MEDA is comparable with the PHARE and TACIS programs by the fact that it forms the economic transition and free trade as central task of the financial co-operation of the European Union with the Mediterranean region.

One of the countries participating in the MEDA program is Tunesien, which is supported during the preparation by the GTZ.
