The term medicine right designates the legal arrangement of the practice of the medical and dental occupation.

This right area extends not only to the more general area of the physician adhesion, thus the adhesion-legal relationship between physician and patient, but enclosure apart from the right of the remuneration of private patient (regulation of charges for physicians, also physician-specific right areas from the social security right (social legislation, especially SGB V with cash permission, remuneration for general patients and details), from the general occupation right (license to practise medicine order, medical occupation orders of the respective national physician chamber), to the collegial relationship between physicians (competition right with large advertising prohibition, right of the practice transmission) as well as special regulations for the practice of the medical occupation as for instance the Roentgen regulation.

2004 were introduced the Fachanwaltsbezeichung "“specialist lawyer for medicine right"”.
