The term meritorisches property (meritorisch - becomes outdated for "„deservingly "“) designates in the economic science a property, which donates from social view a large economic use and therefore by national side be promoted should, since it is produced and/or is not consumed not in sufficient measure. The term can also imply that the individual does not recognize the value of the property (directly and/or completely), or these only at expiration of a certain time interval reveals itself to it.

A state paternalistisch acting in the positive sense is subordinated by the proponents of such a policy. These and/or its participants promote therefore on their part the consumption of meritorischen goods, since they would like the individual opposite an information projection/lead to have mine and these to general well-being use.
