Characteristics of the mimischen musculature are:
- they advertise at the border to the epidermis
- they move the skin (no joint, like with the skeletal musculature!!).
- most mimischen muscles have no Muskelfaszie.
- they become of branches of the Nervus facialis, 7. Cranial nerve, internal fourth.
From the 26 face muscles of humans essentially 8 is responsible for the Mimik:
- The brow jack (Musculus frontalis), also Stirnmuskel or head hood muscle mentioned, is appropriate in whole width on the forehead up to the hair beginning and is a part (Venter frontalis) M. occipitofrontalis, which by the Galea aponeurotica from the dorsalen part (Venter occipitalis) is separate. This muscle is called in its whole also Musculus epicranius.
- The lid countersink (Musculus corrugator supercilii) can draw the face-centric side of the brows downward and provides in such a way for the Stirnrunzeln.
- The lid jack (Musculus levator palpebrae) is a short muscle, which plays a role with surprised Mimik.
- The eye ring muscle (Musculus orbicularis oculi) encloses in each case an eye. It provides for closing the lids and is thus responsible for the Blinzeln.
- The upper lip jack or small yoke leg muscles (Musculus levator labii superioris) is a triple line muscle that, on the basis of yoke elbow/lower edge of the eye socket/nose at the Oberlippe flows. With him we express disgust.
- The laughter muscle or large yoke leg muscles (Musculus zygomaticus major) connects the yoke elbow with the Mundwinkel.
- Lip extension muscles are first of all the Risorius, which extend from the Mundwinkel behind the Kinnlade, and secondly the neck skin muscle the Platysma, a flat muscle, which continues on the basis of the mouth angle range strongly widening over the neck up to the chest beginning.
- The mouth ring muscle (Musculus orbicularis oris) or lip clamping muscle encloses the mouth circularly. It is fixed, but by other muscles is held at no bone. Therefore it is particularly mobile.
- The mouth angle ago puller (Musculus depressor angulioris) connects the lower lip at the Mundwinkel with the lower Kieferrand.
- The lower lip ago puller (Musculus depressor labii inferioris) can down-pull the lower lip straight.
- The Schmollmuskel (Musculus mentalis) sets at the chin. If the skin on the chin looks runzelig, this muscle is active.
Due to the axle symmetry of the face nearly everything seems to muscles mentioned doubly.
There the laughter muscle, lip extension muscles and the mouth angle ago pullers cross and/or overlap themselves in the mouth angle angle and form an outwardly visible, characteristic knot.
The mimische musculature becomes of 7. Cranial nerves, the Nervus facialis internal fourth. It occurs essentially also with the remaining mammals. A great importance for the Mimik and the social behavior of the animals play also outside ear muscles.
