Mondino dei Luzzi (called Mondinus, Mundinus, Raimondino Dei Liucci; * 1275 in Bologna; " 1326 ebenda) were Anatom and professor of the medicine in Bologna.
It studied medicine at the University of Bologna and taught there after the graduation anatomy and surgery. At the same time it practiced within these ranges. It was first, which introduced systematic anatomy instruction again to the curriculum, after this had been given up for many centuries. Dei Luzzi dissected corpses and wrote due to these experiences 1316 a relevant anatomical collection Anathomia Mundini (first printed 1468 or 1478, altogether appeared 39 editions), which blew up that scholastisches thinking. Into the time of the Anatomen Andreas Vesalius (1514-64) this work remained the anatomical standard.
