As subset of plants monitoring-needy plants belong to the media in the sense of the working reliability regulation (BetrSichV). To that extent the common regulations of section 2 the BetrSichV apply also to it, if these plants are used by persons employed with the work. Otherwise in particular the regulations of the section 3 are the BetrSichV to use (thus also the protection third is ensured).

To all plants it applies that all parts are included, which are necessary for the safe enterprise of the plant. For receiver plants this means for example that the complete functional unit consists of receivers, pipings, items of equipment as well as items of equipment with safety function.

The protection concept of the BetrSichV plans for monitoring-needy plants:

  • Minimum requirements to the condition (so far it not already through europ. Harmonization guidelines such as printing device guideline, elevator guideline, ATEX Produktrichtlinie are given)
  • safety-relevant evaluation for the enterprise
  • "“State of the art"” is exclusive safety yardstick
  • suitable preventive measures and examinations (e.g. Examination before start-up, recurring examinations).

For certain monitoring-needy plants there is a Erlaubnsivorbehalt, i.e. the operator has to request a permission at the responsible authority.
