Moritz Baumert (* 26 December 1818 in deer mountain; "† September 1865 in Berlin) was a German physician and chemist.

Baumert studied only medicine, late chemistry under Justus of Liebig, Josef Redtenbacher and Robert William Bunsen. After it had worked some years as a physician in Breslau, it habilitierte at the University of Breslau in chemistry and became an extraordinary professor in Bonn.

Its Habilitationsschrift over the Respiration of the Schlammpeizgers was one of first applications of the gas analysis in the physiology.
