Mount Gay Destilleries Limited is a Rumbrennerei in Barbados in the Karibik. As can be prove the Mount Gay is produced since 1703, why many of the oldest and finest Rum of the world speak.

Mount Gay matures two years depending upon sort until twelve years in oak barrels, which the Whiskybrennerei Jim Beam is bought.

The name is derived from the fact that the sugar tubing cultivation area of the Rums is on a collection named Mount Gay close from pc. Lucy. The sugar tubing cultivation began in 17. Century, when the area was called still Mount Gilboa and there five small sugar piping plan days was created. Beginning 18. Century bought William Sandiford most country and combined it into the Plantage Mount Gilboa. Sandifords son sold the Plantage 1747 at John Sober. Since these and its son Cumberbatch lived most time in England, Cumberbatchs friend Sir John Gay Alleyne took over the administration of the Plantage. When Alleyne died 1801, Cumberbatch wanted to honour Alleyne by renaming the Plantage. Since there was Mount Alleyne already, was called the Plantage of now at Mount Gay.
