The Musculus adductor magnus (lat.: large Adduktor) is the largest Adduktoren of the thigh. Between its beginnings to the Linea aspera and for the Tuberculum adductorium Hiatus forms adductorius (Hiatus lat. for opening) or also Hiatus tendineus. By this opening the Arteria arrives femoralis and the Vena femoralis into the knee bend.
With the hoof animals it is the only one of the three Musculi of adductores and therefore simply as Musculus adductor is designated.
The Musculus adductor magnus bends and adduziert (Adduktion = pulling to the body center) the thigh in dorsale portion of the Musculus adductor magnus stretches the thigh in the hip joint, since this part rises from the seat leg peak.
