The Musculus extensor carpi radialis brevis (lat.: short radial Handstrecker) is one radial muscles of the lower arm. It overlaid of the Musculus extensor carpi radialis longus.

With the domestic animals this muscle is not trained.

Function

The Musculus extensor carpi radialis brevis stretches, exactly the same as the Musculus extensor carpi radialis longus, the hand in the wrist. In addition it takes part to the Abduktion (bend the hand toward thumbs).
