The Musculus flexor digitorum longus (lat.: long Zehenbeuger) is a skeleton muscle and a one the deep Beuger at the Unterschenkel. The muscle ends first in an individual chord, which divides only in the sole into 4 final chords.
With the domestic animals the muscle is called Musculus flexor digitorum medialis. Its chord connects itself with those of the remaining heads of the deep Zehenbeugers (Musculus flexor digitorum lateralis and Musculus tibialis caudalis) to the deep bend chord. This divides itself according to the number of supporting toes again into accordingly many thighs and advertises at their Endphalanx.
The Musculus flexor digitorum longus bends the outside 4 toes downward, in addition he is involved to the Plantarflexion (bends downward) of the foot.
With animals the "“Plantarflexion"” of the jump joint corresponds to an aspect ratio of the same.
